Breakfast, when not included in the rate, costs 7.50 euros at Rome Airport Hotel Fiumicino and 18 euros at the Best Western. Booking sites list 16 euros at the Mercure, 19 euros at Hilton Garden Inn and 18 to 24 euros at the Hilton.

For drivers, parking is free at the Best Western and Rome Airport Hotel Fiumicino. Hilton Garden Inn charges 25 euros a day and the Hilton 33 euros a day. The Mercure’s own site gives two answers (free outdoor parking on one page, 8 euros per 24 hours on another), so confirm when booking.

Rooms by the hour and day use

The Leonardo Express runs non-stop between Roma Termini and the airport in 32 minutes for 14 euros. A taxi from central Rome within the Aurelian Walls costs a fixed 55 euros. A Rome hotel works out cheaper when its rate undercuts the airport hotel by more than these fares and the first train arrives early enough for the flight. Ways to pay less

  • Compare several dates, including weekdays, since airport hotel rates change with demand.
  • Check whether breakfast is in the rate: a room without it at Rome Airport Hotel Fiumicino plus 7.50 euros can cost less than a rate that includes it.
  • Price the shuttle against a taxi. The taxi minimum between the airport and these hotels is 25 euros, which is less than four people pay on any paid shuttle.
  • If you are driving, count parking: free at two hotels, 25 to 33 euros a day at the Hiltons.
